Moldova–Switzerland Business Forum 2026: Strategic IP Perspective by ADVANCED LAWYERS

Moldova–Switzerland Business Forum 2026: Strategic IP Perspective by ADVANCED LAWYERS

4/1/2026

Last week, the team at ADVANCED LAWYERS participated in the Moldova–Switzerland Business Forum 2026 in Zurich, representing the Moldovan business and innovation ecosystem. The forum served a clearly defined objective: fostering new economic cooperation through B2B and B2G partnerships between Moldova and Switzerland.

This year’s event was particularly significant, marking one year since the EFTA–Moldova Free Trade Agreement entered into force. The agreement has already begun unlocking tangible opportunities for cross-border investment, trade expansion, and long-term strategic partnerships—especially for companies aiming to scale internationally.

From a legal and intellectual property standpoint, such forums are more than networking platforms—they are entry points into structured international cooperation where legal protection mechanisms become critical.

We communicated with representatives of the business communities of Moldova and Switzerland and discussed opportunities for exporting goods and services from Moldova. In practice, large-scale trade contracts between countries are often accompanied by комплексной protection of intellectual property through mechanisms such as EUIPO, WIPO, and national patent offices, aimed at protecting imported products from counterfeiting and enabling customs enforcement measures, including the blocking of infringing shipments.

In the IT and services sector, we shared valuable insights and our practical case experience in protecting IT startups, developers, and their software code from unauthorized copying by third parties. In both scenarios—goods and services—we apply legal expertise and state-level mechanisms to increase company valuation, strengthen intangible assets, and protect brands, patents, copyrights, and trade secrets. This strategic approach was presented by ADVANCED LAWYERS at the Moldova–Switzerland Forum.

At ADVANCED LAWYERS, we consistently observe that international trade—whether involving goods or digital services—requires a multi-layered legal strategy. This includes coordinated protection of trademarks, patents, industrial designs, and copyright across jurisdictions. As reflected in WIPO frameworks, intellectual property protection is not only a defensive tool but also a key driver of market differentiation, revenue growth, and overall asset value.

We extend our appreciation to INVEST MOLDOVA, HELVETAS, and Valentina Ceban for organizing a highly structured and results-oriented forum. The event enabled meaningful dialogue, knowledge exchange, and the establishment of valuable professional connections in Zurich.

Beyond the professional agenda, Zurich once again demonstrated why it is considered one of Europe’s leading business hubs—efficient, innovation-driven, and seamlessly combining urban infrastructure with natural landscape.

Looking ahead, ADVANCED LAWYERS remains committed to supporting clients in navigating international markets through robust IP strategies. As Moldovan companies continue expanding into EU and global markets, the role of legal structuring and intellectual property protection will only become more central to sustainable growth.

We are ready to support this transition.
